Hanin Al‐Barqouni and her husband Bassam Nasr are trying to escape Gaza and start a family somewhere safe. Hanin wishes to complete her degree, and Bassam wants to return to work. They have not eaten decent food in 10 months.

Before the current crisis Hanin studied two years of business administration at university. Bassam worked installing curtains and was very good at his job. Since Israel's latest violent attacks on Gaza during the last year the couple has lost everything including their home.
